The CITIZEN Group Code of Conduct serves as a guiding standard for actions and decisions that align with The CITIZEN Group's corporate philosophy. By realizing this philosophy, The CITIZEN Group aims to foster its growth while contributing to the development of a sustainable society, embodying the ethos of being a company "Loved by citizens, working for citizens." This Code of Conduct is available in nine languages, including Japanese, and has been distributed across all our business sites in each country where we operate. All executives within the Group must submit a written commitment to adhere to the principles outlined in the Code of Conduct.
Furthermore, dedicated individuals responsible for promoting the Code of Conduct have been appointed at each of our business locations. We engage in comprehensive awareness-raising endeavors, taking into account the distinct cultural and regional contexts of each location. These initiatives include activities such as displaying informative posters and distributing booklets and portable reference cards.
We annually conduct online training sessions for our employees in Japan to further bolster these awareness efforts. In FY2024, of the 6,214 domestic employees, 6,200 participated in the training, achieving an attendance of 99.8%.
In order to fulfill our responsibilities as a manufacturing company, The CITIZEN Group has also formulated The CITIZEN Group Quality Code of Conduct, which clearly states our approach to manufacturing and values based on "2. Create and promote products and services that demonstrate our commitment to safety, quality, and the environment" in The CITIZEN Group Code of Conduct. This code is aimed at further ensuring thorough quality compliance.
The CITIZEN Group strives to disseminate The CITIZEN Group Quality Code of Conduct through various opportunities, including training for newly appointed directors and new employees, e-learning for all employees, poster displays, disclosure on the intranet, and feature articles in the company newsletter.
We are also working to disseminate the Quality Code of Conduct to our overseas business sites by displaying posters translated into various languages.
Every year, the CITIZEN Group conducts a CSR awareness survey of management and employees, including temporary employees, of its operating companies (15 companies in Japan in FY2024) to ascertain the level of evaluation and penetration of CSR and corporate ethics, as well as to identify and address future CSR issues.
In answering Q2 "Do you know about the Compliance Hotline," 88% of the respondents selected "Yes." For Q3, whether they will use the Compliance Hotline in a relevant situation, 53% of the respondents answered "Yes," exceeding 50% for the second consecutive year. On the other hand, the percentage of respondents who answered the same question with "No" has declined to 9%, but, when asked about the reason, 24% of them selected "Because I am concerned about whether confidentiality will be protected." This suggests a lack of understanding of the whistleblower protection system among employees, revealing the need for continued awareness-raising efforts.
