Citizen of the Year started in 1990 to honor citizens who contribute to social progress and the creation of happiness while creating an attractive society as well as becoming a great inspiration for others. This year, we will celebrate the 36th anniversary of the award.
This year as well, we commended some wonderful people.
The award recipients this year are as follows:
- Kazunaga and Kiyomi Okita, who have continued to support young Burmese people by providing Japanese-language education as well as assistance with study abroad opportunities and employment, in the hope of a peaceful future for Myanmar
- Everyone at Futaba no Kai Food Service, a service that has warmly delivered handmade meals while also supporting the everyday lives of local senior citizens through daily watchful support for 30 years
- Everyone at Children's Support Station Tane to Shizuku, an organization that supports parents and children in single-parent families and impoverished households, who are at risk of social isolation, and provides a safe place for local children to spend time
All of these people have continued their efforts with a spirit of creating happiness together. The steps taken by all the recipients have clearly shown how powerful compassion for others can be in a society where we all live together.
Through the Citizen of the Year awards, the Citizen Group will continue to focus on citizens who inspire hope and bring positive change to society, celebrate their valuable contributions, and support them.
Guided by our corporate philosophy, "Loved by citizens, working for citizens," we aim to address social issues through our business activities and work together with all of you to realize a better society.
