Citizen began production of machine tools in 1936, utilizing the technologies and know-how developed through the manufacture of watch parts. Our products contribute to the development of manufacturing industries all over the world.

Guided by its corporate philosophy, “Loved by citizens, working for citizens.” The CITIZEN Group values coexistence with local communities and is committed as a good corporate citizen to social contribution activities. We also strive to address social issues through our businesses and fulfill our responsibilities as a member of the international community in order to help build a sustainable society by achieving progress together with our local communities.
Based on Article 8 of The CITIZEN Group Code of Conduct, “Strive to contribute to regional communities in which we operate,” we have established The CITIZEN Group Social Contribution Policy. As a member of society, we aim to conduct business activities that are beneficial to society and in which all Group companies are involved while valuing their ties to the local communities and cooperating in their revitalization efforts.
We also aim to fulfill our responsibilities as a good corporate citizen in cooperation with the partners we need in our social contribution activities, such as local governments, NPOs, NGOs, and volunteer organizations. The CSR Office of Citizen Watch Co., Ltd. plays a central role in advancing these activities.

Basic Policy
The CITIZEN Group upholds its corporate philosophy of “Loved by citizens, working for citizens.” and embraces The CITIZEN Group Code of Conduct’s Article 8, “As a good corporate citizen, we will contribute to and live in harmony with local communities,” as the basic policy for our social contribution activities.
Guidelines
In promoting social contribution, we have set the following three guidelines.
We shall contribute to the development of regional communities through our business activities based on consultations with the regions and mutual trust.
We shall make an effort to foster a flexible and creative corporate culture through further deepening our relations with regional communities by establishing friendships with local residents and by cooperating with regional vitalization efforts.
We shall carry out social contribution activities in collaboration with NPOs, NGOs, volunteer organizations, regional communities, and so on.
