Employment of Persons with Disabilities
The CITIZEN ELECTRONICS Group is proactively hiring people with disabilities. The company does not set a fixed quota for hires people with disabilities but takes into considers individual disability grades and difference in capabilities, and accordingly assigns work to employees. Because of this, employees with varying disabilities are currently actively participating in the workplace. For example, employees born with difficulty in hearing are provided with sign language support to facilitate communication when participating in general meetings for everyone and individual interviews in order to ensure that they experience a less stressful workplace.
With respect to staff with mental and intellectual retardation, we have a support system in place where local supporters regularly visits the staff until they feel secure to work in the workplace. The company continues to provide support to its staff even after the initial settlement period while continuing to exchange status reports on the staff between the company and the local supporters.
Supporting Employees with Disabilities
CITIZEN WATCH GOODRINGTON (CHINA) currently employs 10 staff members with disabilities, who work in a variety of roles on the production floor. Each member contributes their unique talent to the job.
The CITIZEN Group regards the employment of persons with disabilities as a natural responsibility of a public entity to secure a valuable addition to its workforce and does not do so simply because it is stipulated by law. Under this belief, we aim to create a lively work place where all employees have a proper understanding of disabilities and diversity and are able to work together by leveraging the strengths of others while fully exercising their own abilities.
